Codification

In order to avoid duplication or incomprehensible codes, all manufacturing
sites will follow the same designation rules.
The procedure as described hereunder explains for each digit how to build
and understand the Alesta® code, depending on the product chemistry
and properties.

1st and 2nd character
2 Letters that indicate the product chemistry and hardener

3rd character
Number that indicates the gloss, measurable and non-measurable

4th character
Number that indicates the surface appearance

5th character
Number that indicates the effect

6th character
Number that indicates a specific property

7th character
Number that indicates the colour

8th to 11th character
Undefined 4 digit number that will be specific per colour
(e.g. colour code)

12th to 13th character
Number that indicates the country of development or European standard in order to distinguish from country specific products

AE80012200320 stands for:

1. Polyester Architectural primid
2. Gloss digit 80-89 units
3. Smooth
4. No other special effect
