Sustainable Operations
Adherence to environmental legislation and regulatory requirements is the starting point of our commitment to minimise our environmental footprint across our business activities, from product development and manufacturing to distribution and waste disposal. Our manufacturing facility is ISO14001:2015 certified. We endeavor to also adhere to Axalta’s Global’s Environmental, Health, and Safety Policy, which includes, and in some instances exceeds, standards set by either ISO. Axalta Plascon is committed to providing a healthy and safe working environment for our employees.
Reducing Our Environmental Footprint
At the core of our commitment to environmental sustainability is a pledge to achieve carbon neutrality in our operations by 2040. This industry-leading carbon commitment is supported by our 2029 goals of achieving a reduction of GHG emissions and sourcing much of our electricity from renewable sources. We have plans in place to achieve these goals, working with a third-party energy provider to increase our usage of renewable electricity and execute additional energy efficiency projects in our operations. We’re also committed to reducing volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions in our operations by 10% by 2030, normalized to production.
Product Stewardship
Manufacturing consistently superior quality products demands rigorous standards for the materials we use. At Axalta Plascon, product stewardship means:
- Carefully selecting raw materials that provide the best product performance while minimising risk to human health and the environment.
- Designing products to protect the surfaces they cover, promote product lifespan and reduce the demand for additional raw materials.
- Providing accurate information to maximize the safe use, handling, storage, and distribution of our products.
Through our work to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with our products, from development through manufacturing, use and disposal, we continue to provide value to our customers and ensure the sustainability of our business.
Product Quality
Quality is essential in everything we do. Our manufacturing site meets ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems certification, and automotive TS/IATF 16949 certified. Adherence to common quality standards is the first step in our commitment to quality. Our operations follow additional quality excellence systems that set goals and apply disciplines, which in many cases exceed those set by the quality standards.
