Axalta’s 2-Wet Monocoat System for light vehicle OEMs combines the paint performance of a clearcoat-over-basecoat system with the productivity of a monocoat process. The process begins with a layer of 2-Wet primer followed by a no-heat, ambient flash. The vehicle is then coated with the 2-Wet Monocoat coating followed by a bake cycle. Coating applications are reduced from three to two and the number of drying steps from two to one. By removing steps in the painting process, the 2-Wet Monocoat System is designed to increase productivity with reduced energy use and paint shop footprint.

Axalta Announces Development of Global Innovation Center at Philadelphia Navy Yard Sept. 16 2015

Axalta announces that its new Global Innovation Center will be located at The Navy Yard in Philadelphia. The 175,000 square foot facility will be home to Axalta’s global research, product development, and technology initiatives and partner with the Company’s other technology centers in the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

In the U.S. Axalta hosted Penn State University business and engineering students at the Axalta “We Paint Winners” 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway. Students saw first-hand the impact that engineers have on racing and learned about the disciplines that support automotive engineering and the business skills needed to operate a racetrack year-round.

Axalta All-Pro Teachers Program Recap 2015

In a partnership with the Philadelphia Eagles football team, Axalta sponsors All-Pro Teachers. The program honors 6th through 12th grade teachers for their hard work and dedication to their students in the Greater Philadelphia area. Throughout the football season, ten teachers - chosen by nominations from their students, parents, and peers - win a donation to his or her school in addition to various other prizes. One teacher, selected at the end of the season, receives an additional donation and an Eagles pep rally at his or her school.

AXALTA COATING SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE CENTER TO OPEN IN CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA

Axalta announced that it will construct its new Customer Experience Center in Concord, North Carolina. The 45,000-square-foot facility will serve Axalta’s refinish, light vehicle OEM and industrial customers. The facility will provide the latest customer training resources for refinish technicians located, especially, in the mid-Atlantic region. The center will also house meeting and conference rooms for customers to participate in coatings-related training and development programs. The new facility will be located on the campus of Hendrick Motorsports just outside Charlotte. Axalta is a 23-year sponsor of Hendrick Motorsports’ racing program.
